Wing Foiling | Pick 5 Challenge with Tucker
It's Tucker's turn in the "Pick 5 Challenge" hotseat! Tucker rides any and all wings and foils that come through the doors at MACkite... can he really pick just five??Jeff: Tucker, if you had to just pick five pieces for winging and ride it for a year here in Michigan with the conditions that we have, what would you pick?Tucker: I'm an oddball sometimes, and I like versatility in my gear, especially if I can only pick five things. I'm not even going to limit myself to one sport like wing

2023 Ocean Rodeo Glide AA First Impressions
We finally got our hands on the Ocean Rodeo Glide AA all-Aluula wing. Aluula is a very light and strong material, and this is definitely the lightest 5 meter I've ever flown, by far. Obviously, a full Aluula wing is going to come with a price tag, but it's very light. How Does It Ride? The outline is pretty flat, which makes it very powerful. This wing is speedy with a lot of drive. It does have a sweet spot that you have to find, so I would consider this to be a technical wing. It likes t

So don't chuck it in the landfill when you eventually replace it. Give ol' Mama Earth a big hug instead.Want to hear more about this new offering on the wing market? Here's the sco

Load Testing Aluula and Dacron Kite and Wing Materials | Reece's Shred Lab
"And so I'm here at the Ocean Rodeo headquarters where Aluula is being tested, and I am going to be doing some load-testing on some Aluula that I have here, and I'm going to compare it to some standard Dacron that is normally used on the leading edge of kites.
Alright, so the Aluula weighed in at 78 GSM, and the Dimension Polyne Dacron weighed in at 157 GSM. And so when we go into this tear test, which is going to happen next, keep in mind that the Aluula is basically half the weigh

Ocean Rodeo Rise 10m Review
What's up, guys? Rygo here from MACkite. We just got into Hatteras. We spent the whole winter testing gear down in Florida, hanging out in central Florida, riding in the Keys, and now we're up here in the Outer Banks and finally getting some stronger wind, so I had the chance to get out and test the 10 meter Ocean Rodeo Rise, and this kite very much surprised me. It is kind of higher aspect, but it is a big air kite. I've been testing quite a few of the higher aspect big air kites, an

Kiteboarding Trends and Random Predictions for 2022
It’s a question we get quite often: what’s new for this model year? Well, color, obviously. Maybe some new canopy material, and there’s probably a bridle tweak somewhere in there. What else? Well, you see… errr…We look forward to 2022 to the trends we expect to see in the kiteboarding industry.
1) Lighter Canopy Materials for Kites and WingsThe biggest innovations in recent years have come in lighter materials – first with the Ocean Rodeo Aluula and then the Duotone SLS. We expect this to conti

Ocean Rodeo Flight | to Aluula or Not to Aluula
Everywhere I go the question comes up, “is Aluula really worth the extra cost?” Well, cost aside, let's focus on the performance and then you make the call.I got the chance to test two of my favorite kites the other day, the 14.5m Ocean Rodeo Flight. What’s that you say, “wait, he said two of his favorite kites.” To clarify I did test two kites, both were the 14.5m Ocean Rodeo Flight, but I got to pit the A-Series (Aluula) directly against its brother from the same mother, the HL Series (H

10m Roam Aluula Foiling Review
The Roam is Ocean Rodeos Surf kite and if you kite foil, you know up until brands started developing foil specific kites like the UFO, Surf kites were a popular choice among foil enthusiasts. You might be surprised to hear that Surf kites are still the most popular choice at the shop among the team.
Mostly because they give you options from surf performance to high-end kite foil performance. For reference, currently, I weigh 185 I was using the Slingshot Infinity 76 and I tested the Roam Al

Ocean Rodeo Stick Shift Vs Duotone Clickbar
These bars are similar in design. They use a clicking system to adjust the steering lines rather than the center lines.
The Stick Shift is super soft on the hands
The Ocean Rodeo Stick Shift is soft and floaty; while the Duotone Clickbar is a little less soft, it's more refined. The drawback to the Clickbar is that sometimes the centerline can bind. This is due to the automatic swivel feature. The Stick Shift's main drawback is that you must flush it out between each use.
Obviously,

Flight Aluula VS SLS First Test
The shop asked me to try to compare Duotone's SLS kites and the Aluula kites from Ocean Rodeo. I've decided to do a couple videos on this to share my experience and that of friends who tried it. I was able to get some time on the Neo SLS, and now I've got a Roam Aluula and a Flite Aluula.
So far I've tried the Flite and the Neo SLS. Two very different kites, so I'll compare how the lighter materials used impacted the kites in their own respective ways. I do have a Roam that I'll test and comp

Ocean Rodeo Roam Aluula Review
The Roam has been a favorite in the Ocean Rodeo lineup for several years. This great surf/freeride kite comes in an all-new construction called Aluula. This new material takes this solid kite to the next level by making the kite lighter and stiffer. What this does for the kite's performance is to make it more reactive to bar input and to perform better in lighter winds.
Improved Performance
What this means for improved surf and foil performance is that the kite stays in the air; you can
