2023 North Nova v3 Review
Welcome back to MACkiteboarding Wing Wednesdays. I'm Tucker, and today I'm going to give you a quick review on the new North Nova version 3 for 2023. I've been riding this wing for a few weeks now and getting a good feel for it, so I'll go over it and compare it to some similar wings out there on the market to see how it stacks up.
What Is the Nova v3?
The North Nova v3 is a complete redesign of the Nova, and they did an excellent job of bringing it into 2023, in terms of where wings are

2023 North Code Zero On-Water Review
This is Pat from MACkiteboarding.com talking about the new Code Zero from North Kiteboarding. What is it? What are you going to get out of it? Who's it for? And why should you consider buying this kite this year? What is the Code Zero?
It's a single-strut leading edge inflatable foiling kite. It's also surprisingly good in the waves, but that being said, it is designed for light wind foiling. Looking at single-strut versus strutless or three-strut, they opted for some weight savings with

2022 North Atmos vs. Astra Kiteboard Review
Hey guys, Kristen here with MACkite, and today I want to cover the North Atmos vs. the Astra board.North Atmos Kiteboard
If you've been looking at North boards, you might have heard of, or you might even be familiar with, the Atmos. It's their big air freeride board, and it's pretty popular. It's a little bit stiffer, so it really allows you to cut through the chop and hold down the edge you need to have explosive pop off the water, which is what you want for big air and to g

Brad Strahm's Review on the North Astra Kiteboard
What's up guys? Brad here, and today I'm here to tell you guys a little bit about my experience with the 2022 North Astra.
I've been riding the North Astra for the past few kiteboarding sessions, and initially I was expecting this board to be fairly identical to an Atmos, since that's basically the shape that it's based off of. However, it actually feels quite a bit different. It comes with a inherently narrower stance on it and a softer core, as it's made more for a lightweight r

Connor's Wing Things Pick List:
Before my session, I like to be well-prepared: besides good wind & coffee, I like to have sunblock (depending on weather), protein, and lots of water. I like to rock the following:
Slingshot Tracker 7’ w/ SUPwinder Ride Engine Recoil waist leash 8’6m North Nova (2022) for light/moderate wind4m Ozone Wasp V2 (2021) for moderate/heavy windA wrist leash for safety like the one that comes with the North NovaWMFG kite pump for wings and a Slingshot High Power pump for the SUP5/4 Mystic Star LT wetsu

2022 North Reach, Is this your Do-It-All kite?
The North Reach is the do-it-all kite from North's range. Now, considering that almost all kitesurfing kites, to a fault, are do-it-all these days, what does that even mean? It means the 2022 North Reach is balanced perfectly for all disciplines while other kiteboarding kites tend to favor a specific niche.
The Reach is a bit lighter than, say, the North Orbit, which was built for extreme and overpowered conditions. Now this doesn't mean the Reach isn't durable. It means it'

North Orbit Versus North Reach—Mr. Jeff's Take
I have had over 300+ sessions over the past two years on North kites and the Reach is what sold me on the “new” North brand. I would like to share the top 3 characteristics of the Orbit and Reach, do a comparison, and why both should be in your quiver.
The North Reach is a one-kite wonder. It truly does it all very well.
Medium to light bar pressure that delivers a direct and intuitive fast flying kite. Loops very fast and can be directed with very little bar input. Light 3 strut constr

North Pulse Review
It's been a few months since I filmed this review and my take has not changed all that much. I admit the North Pulse has grown on me quite a bit more. I had the chance to get a few more freestyle and wave sessions in on this kite. I don't know if I will do another review on the Pulse as, sadly, any kite associated with freestyle takes a back seat to beginner-oriented kites. Much of this comes down to other beginners advising new riders on forums and in Facebook groups. Granted, not everyone

North Fix Boots Review
The North Fix boots are kite specific and a good option for kiteboarder looking to add some power to their riding, They have a clean simple look that can be seen throughout the entire North Kiteboarding lineup. I had the chance to demo a pair for most of the winter and I was able to log loads of sessions in with these on the kite and in the cable park. Here are my thoughts.
Flex
The Flexibility on these are perfect for kite. The are stiff and supportive on the ankle with a

The Best Kitesurfing Control Bar for Women and Children
The small North Navigator kiteboarding control bar comes in 38 to 43 cm. As a female, I’m always on a smaller kite than all the guys out there. The reason I like a smaller bar is it slows down and gives me more control of the smaller kites I am using. Small kite control bars slow the kite down.
This is great because it prevents accidental loops and more control in wild conditions. The other reason I like it is because the bar is plush and soft. I have used some harder and mor

North Nova Review
The North Nova wing foiling wing is North's first wing. While it is first gen, they have taken the time to get it right. There is a good deal of refinement that I would expect from a second or third gen wing.
First thing that stands out is the color. Sorry, I know, that's a silly thing to talk about, but the black and teal really stands out.
I used this wing in a wide variety of conditions from light to lit on the 5m. The wing is compact but powerful. It rides upwind. It has great powe

North Flare Kiteboard Review
The North Flare is a wakestyle / parkstyle board. It's made for kiteboarders who are looking to ride powered, do unhooked tricks and grind things. In spite of the fact that wakestyle is pretty underground right now, I wanted to do a review on this board. I've used almost every wakestyle board to date, so I have a good idea where this one stacks up behind the kite and in the cable park.Performance
My first impression is the simplicity of the design. The board has a good outline for speed a

North Atmos Carbon Review
The North Atmos Carbon is a pretty specific tool and a fun option for a kiteboarder looking to get as much upwind performance and pop as possible. I've had this board for a few months now and I think I have a good feel to break down everything you can expect. I've been using the 139 Atmos, and for perspective my personal go-to is a 147 Slingshot Refraction. The 139 is super small for me but the speed, rocker and outline allow this board to ride upwind as well as, if not better than, my 147
