How to Jump Higher With the J-Hook and Lazy-S Kiteboarding Techniques
Make Your Kiteboarding Jumps Even Higher With the J-Hook TechniqueI've been coaching some friends on how to boost higher while kiteboarding. Most people use a J-Hook (carving upwind to load the rail) to pop. I find that the Lazy-S (carving upwind, but instead of popping, you carve downwind using the increased power to accelerate) makes much more power. But first, let's talk about using the J-Hook to transition to the Lazy-S.The first thing I say is that you are not being pulled by a kite—you ar

Your Third Kiteboarding Trick After Learning How to Jump
Hey, what's up guys? I'm Rygo and I'm in Hatteras with Lucas, and we're back for Part Three of our "Fundamentals: Progressive Jump with Style" playlist. That's a mouthful, but the whole idea is that we're helping you transition from the first video to the last video. We're breaking down basic grabs, helping you build air awareness, and whatever your discipline and whatever your level, these are easy things that you can practice to step up your riding and look better on the water. Even for

Your Second Kiteboarding Trick After Learning How to Jump
Hey, what's up guys? I'm Rygo.
Hey, I'm Lucas.
We're coming back with our second video on our Fundamentals: Jumping with Style playlist and we started with the tail grab. Now it's time for round two, so we're going to talk about a stalefish grab. It's pretty similar, but there are some slight differences with what you're doing with your body. These are things for you to think about because we want to help you transition into being a more stylish rider by taking the most basic things and

Today we're going to talk about a super simple tail grab with a sent jump and what you can

Easy Kiteboarding Beach Start - RIDE with Blake
Hey, what's up guys? Blake from MACkite here. I've been pretty busy traveling the past few months, taking a little break, but it's good to be back and making some tutorial videos. I've got a really fun trick for you today, the beach start, and I'm excited to go over it.
This is a really fun trick because, instead of having to do your traditional "flying the kite, holding the board, walking into the water, putting it on your feet, and then sinking in", you can start right off the beach wi

Kiteboarding Late Back Heli Loop: with Brad Strahm
What's up guys? Brad here, down in the Keys with Rygo and Kristen this week, filming some new content for the YouTube channel. Today I have a video for you guys on how to upgrade your late backroll from the previous video we did, bring it to a new level, and get one step closer to being able to do a late backroll with a kite loop.
For this variation of the late backroll, we're going to be working off the idea of using line tension as something to rotate against. In the first video

How to Backroll Kiteloop Late Tail Grab: with Shaun Bennett
Yo, what's up guys? I'm Rygo.
And I'm Shaun.
And we were running through some footage that Brad Strom filmed at Hood River and Lyle. We've been doing some trick tips and Shaun here had some pretty rad big air tricks, and we thought we'd cover one of them that we really liked, the backroll kiteloop late tail grab. Can you break this down?
I just make sure that once I commit to the backroll kiteloop by keeping the bar pinned in all the way after the load and

Freestyle Kiteboarding with Chris Bobryk Tigertail
In my opinion, Chris Bobryk is one of the most underrated freestyle riders in the USA. Yes, I'm biased as we've been friends for a long time. That said, the proof is in his riding. A decade ago he was the last real potential candidate from the USA in the PKRA. He's invented several never-been-done-before tricks, known as NBDs, and he's single-handedly pioneered what we like to call "back country park riding". This includes things like grinding logs, beaches, and more or less interacting wi

Kite Girl's First Crail Grab
The Crail Grab is the least common grab seen on the beach, mostly because it's not one you would think to do often. Taking your back hand and reaching for the nose takes some flexibility and core, but it looks epic paired with rolls and rotations. For this video I'll cover the most simple variation.
If you want to see the more advanced version, check out this video by Rygo and Blake. They accidentally called it a Nuke Grab, but this video breaks down more variations of this grab.

Hooked in Back to Wrapped
The backroll is possibly the most popular trick in kiteboarding. It's usually the first move everyone learns. From there people progress to the back to toeside or the double backroll. The back to wrapped, however, is by far the most stylish and technical first variation where one can pair a roll with a flat rotation. Usually this trick is done by unhooked freestyle riders, but it can be done hooked in easily enough and will make you stand out on the water!Step One - Kite Low

The Double Backroll Transition
Step One - Kite Basics
First you need to know how to do a proper air transition. Your kite will be at 12 for the entire trick. Once you complete both bankrolls, you send the kite hard in the opposite direction. You want to come into this one with low to medium speed. If you have too much speed it will be difficult to stop your momentum and go the other way.
Step Two - The Rotations
The first rotation will be a flat 360 similar to your first backerolls. Your feet are underneath you and you

How to Master the Kiteboarding Front Roll Tail Grab
The Front Roll is usually the second trick everyone wants to learn right after the Back Roll. It's a simple trick that always looks good, especially if you add a grab to it. The easiest grab to start with is the tail grab.
This is one of my go-to tricks every session because it just feels so good.
For this video, I'll break down the freestyle pop technique. This can be done hooked in, and you can actually do this with a sent jump. This technique will help give more power to your pop and

Kitesurfing Butterslide
The idea behind this video is to work your way into powered, stylish Butter Slides. These are an easy trick, but they do take a little leg strength. That means your first Butters will be low and quick. Over time, your legs will get stronger and you'll find the perfect approach.
Nothing feels better than a kiteboarding Butter Slide
Step One - First Attempts
Keep the kite at 45 and get good speed. If you go slow, you will sink. Go slightly downwind and lean back. Put your weight behind y

Kitesurfing Toeside Transition with Style
What up guys. Today we're going to break down another half loaded pop video. We just covered the tail grab with Chris Bobryk. Next up, we're going cover one of the most stylish and easy grabs, the Tuck Knee Indy. It's a half loaded pop where you tuck your back knee and grab the board with your back hand between your feet on the toeside edge. Later we'll do a more advanced version with Chris where you take it to blind or wrapped.
This is a fun and easy one that can be used as a transitio
