Hello guys. This is Pat and Dustin from MACkite. Today we will review the Slingshot Machine V2 and the Machine V2 Light Wind.

We recently had a session with the V2s. They are super stellar, lofty, big boosty kites. They have a perfect low-power end, are grunty, and have decent bar pressure. If you're looking for a lighter bar feel, the V2 might not be the kite for you. But if you like a direct feel and nice power in the bar, then the V2 is perfect for you. You will feel the kite power pulling down.

The V2 has a pretty heavy bar pressure. The kite will take you straight up and quickly bring you back down. Not a lot of distance to the jumps but big air to them.

The V2 is surprisingly fast despite being a higher aspect kite. It has a decently quick turning that you don’t expect from a higher aspect kite. The V2s are suitable for the big air, super solid in the sky with that five-strut design. Having a five-strut gives you a stable airframe so that no matter how punchy or gusty the conditions are, it will stay solid in the air for you.

During our test run, we started with 15 meters and dropped to 10 meters when the wind picked up. Even at 15 meters, it was super stellar and gave much power. It was like experiencing a light wind kite and then moving to a performance kite for higher winds. At 10 meters, it had a fast turning despite the high aspect; we performed good jumps, loops, and transitions. From that heavy bar feel, you could always tell where the kite was in the sky.

The V2s are going to be a little bit lighter than the V1s. Slingshot trimmed some weight off of it for this year's model. If you liked the V1s, the V2s are even an improvement. We’d definitely recommend checking out the Machine if you’re looking for that kind of boosty hang gliding kite. It is more like that kind of traditional, old-school big air-style kite.

We noticed that this kite has a heavy relaunch. It will pull you once you get it back in the air. It is fairly easy, but there's some power behind it being the machine. Keep an eye out for that.

The regular slingshot machine ranges from 5 to 12 meters. They hit every size, so you can customize your setup for what you need. The light wind machines are available at 15 and 17 meters for those low wind days to keep you on the water.

The V2 Machines are all-around, do everything kite ideal for the free-riders looking to do big jumps and airs. We wouldn’t say it's the best looping kite out there for big air, but it’s a good hang gliding, traditional big air kite.

The pros include an excellent wind range and great jumping, and some people would love it for the heavy bar pressure, but it could be a personal con to others. The relaunch could also be a little bit heavy for some riders.

If you have any questions or anything about that, feel free to reach out to the shop. Call us, email us check out the website. If you need anything, leave some comments .
