Shenanigans With MACkite: Jake M & His Commuting Adventures
Commuting To Work... In Style w/ Jake M
With weekend temperatures in the mid-50s doing away with most of the snow, the staff has been finding alternative ways to commute to work. Jake M breaks down how he's been getting to work the past week.
Running
Living 2.3 miles away from work, a brisk morning run is a great way to start the day. The big downside - arriving to work drenched in sweat. (We think it's time to invest in some MACkite shower systems.)
Biking / Unicycling
I broke down and bought a 36" unicycle last week, justifying it as a way to commute to work. While it's considerably slower than I anticipated (about the same speed as running, at least currently), it's a surprisingly good leg workout! Plus, it's just plain cool.
The progression from an "okay" unicyclist to a better-than-okay one:
E-Skateboard
My favorite way to commute to work, although admittedly far less energy-intensive than the above two methods. Whether starting or closing a workday, there's nary a better feeling than surfing the concrete wave. Plus, with the Boosted Dual+ I can almost keep up with the flow of traffic.
