North Nova Review

North Nova Review

The North Nova wing foiling wing is North's first wing. While it is first gen, they have taken the time to get it right. There is a good deal of refinement that I would expect from a second or third gen wing.

First thing that stands out is the color. Sorry, I know, that's a silly thing to talk about, but the black and teal really stands out.

I used this wing in a wide variety of conditions from light to lit on the 5m. The wing is compact but powerful. It rides upwind. It has great power for its size. The handle positions were thought out well and refined. It seems all 4 handles have a purpose.

Wingfoil Handles with a Purpose

I use the back rear handles in light wind when I want maximum power in the wing. If I'm overpowered, I'll use the front handles and it's been incredibly useful. I've also found the front handle to be useful in light downwind situations on waves. It seems to keep just enough wind in the canopy to help it fly and keep the wing balanced on a wave.

The handles do require more of a cupped grip rather than fingertips as they are thicker.

The wing comes with a wrist leash and a nice backpack.

I find this to be a versatile wing with good low end grunt. It doesn't seem to be aimed at any one type of winging. It's a do-it-all wing for sure.
