Introducing the All-New 2017 North Rebel

Not too long ago, North Kiteboarding unleashed their 2017 Rebel video. This classic, yet coveted kite, has seen a few new twists with its most recent model. This year, the kite is tuned even further, giving riders the perfect freeride kite with amazing jumpability and even better turning and handling. So, what's changed? Let's break it down:

What's new?

  • The profile has been changed to accommodate the additional segments along the canopy. This allows the kite to have quicker turning, better jumping and hangtime, and an increase in stability and wind range.

  • The adaptive tip allows you to adjust the canopy profile to your feel. The yellow, soft setting allows quicker turning and smoother kite loops. The blue, hard setting, allows for more precise turning, heavier bar load, and powerful, dynamic turning. 

  • Also new is a dacron frame in the wing tip, for increase stability and durability.

What's hasn't changed?

  • Short bar stroke, power, linear bar feel, and direct bar feel remain unchanged, giving your Rebel the classic feeling that all have come to enjoy.

  • Same as 2016, there is a smaller aspect ratio for the smaller kite sizes, which is great for steering and handling. A higher aspect ratio is on the bigger kites, which allows more hang time, jumping, and power.
