How to Assemble and Transport Your Waydoo Evo eFoil | Step-by-Step Guide

Ready to get out on your Waydoo Evo eFoil? A few minutes with this guide by MACkite's Katie and Eli will make sure you know what you need to do when you arrive at the beach.

Don't Forget Anything

Although the Evo is quite a sophisticated piece of technology, it doesn't have a lot of parts to assemble. Make sure you've got your board, foil, battery (and spare if you have one), and remote. Remember to pack your Mover transport wheels if you have them, too.

Board and Mast Assembly

Once you're unpacked at the beach, inspect the connections between the mast and board for any water, dirt, or other debris. These need to be perfectly clean and dry prior to assembly.

With the board lying upside-down on the ground, flip your foil over, making sure the larger wing is facing forward, with the smaller wing and propeller toward the back. Place it into the connection in the board. You'll need to torque it down with the two M6 x 20mm hex recessed screws to get it to sit flush. Alternate tightening the screws so that you gradually and evenly seat the foil mast into the board until both screws are snug.

Battery Installation

Turn the board over and stand it up on its nose and the front foil. Make sure it's stable and not on a slope so it won't tip when you add the battery since it's quite weighty and will make the unit top-heavy. If you have someone with you, ask them to hold the board steady for you.

Check the connections on the battery and the board to make sure they are clean and dry before you insert the battery. The display on the battery goes toward the back. Set the front end of the battery in first, then press the back of the battery down. You'll hear the latch at the front click, and the front of the battery will be locked in.

At the back of the battery are two push and twist bolts to finish locking the battery into place. The key is tucked inside the wrist strap of your remote. Use it to push down and twist each bolt 90 degrees clockwise. You may find that the second one takes a bit more effort once the first is locked in.

Pull on the top and the bottom edges of the battery to make sure it's secure, then plug in the rubber insert at the front of the battery. Your board is now fully assembled!

Mover Wheels

If you picked up the optional Mover wheels so you can roll your assembled Waydoo down to the water, you can attach those now. Remove the two inside screws in the plate on the back of your board and screw in the Mover. The Mover doesn't require any tools, so you can easily remove it once you get to the shoreline.

Tip the board down onto one side and then onto its top. Now you can lift it by the handhold in the nose and use the Mover to easily roll your Evo around. You can push it or pull it behind you, depending on the terrain where you ride. See which way works best for you.
