    Firing on all cylinders

Posted by Michael Galaxy on 7th Jul 2024

So, I'm a beginner, right? I am cruising on this board ALL the way across the lake. This board hits *all* the marks for me. The center handle makes it easy to get back up and pull yourself up on the board. It has a back handle. It is super light which makes it REALLY easy to get up on foil. The wind just snatches you right out of the water with this thing. It is built really well: The increase the thickness of the board when inflated so that it is not a sinker. They reduced the length of the board without sacrificing the width make it a very stable board, yet very easy to break the surface tension of the water to get up on foil. AND the price was right. I can't say enough good things about this board. Home run.

Not as good to learn on as hard board

Posted by David H Mark on 22nd Jun 2023

This was my first board. I appreciate the durability, soft surface, and lightness which took me through the early steps and taxiing and up on foil in FLAT conditions, but the limitations of the bottom shape are apparent when trying to get up on foil in chop. I have had extreme difficulty getting up on foil in choppy conditions. I switched to a hard board and got up instantly. My pumping skills at this point are non-existent. Perhaps when I am a more competent wfoiler I can go back to this board and appreciate the light weight and low swing weight (weighs almost nothing up front).

My first wing foil board, pros and cons

Posted by David H Mark on 13th Apr 2023

Windsurfing background (25 yrs) no foil background. I bought 120 L. It was stable for learning to stand up and taxi. A friend's hard board was easier to get first rides up on foil, but can get this board up now. Paradoxically, putting the foil more aft in the box seemed to aid in early foiling. Since board is short and stubby-nosed, having more board in front of foil seemed to help gain speed better. Maybe the release is better too, given the odd bottom shape at the aft of the board. It's great to have a soft smooth board, no cares about hitting it, no board bag needed. Very light, seems to have no weight up front.
