Learning to kiteboard on the snow can be one of the best ways to learn, especially if you already have snowboard or skiing experience. Snowkiting takes away all the variables that riding on water has, and puts you in the best possible situation to learn quickly. Get going this winter and hit the water ready in the spring!
What's Included
Lessons include all necessary kites, helmets, and harnesses. You must bring your own skis or snowboard, and any additional protective gear. We operate our school with a maximum of 3 students per instructor to maximize your learning potential and enjoyment.
What's Covered
We will strive to pair students of similar experience levels so that each group's needs are met. If you are totally new to the sport, we will start with a trainer kite and kite theory to build your experience from scratch. Sound boring? Fear not! We find that even complete beginners are generally riding significant distances by the end of their lesson. More experienced kite fliers are often holding their ground, or even riding upwind by the end of that first day. This is why we love to teach on snow - your progress is double or triple what it is on the water!
What To Expect
Dress warm and in layers. Dress as if you were downhill skiing and riding a long chair lift in-between runs. As the day progresses, your activity level will increase nearly to the extent of cross-country skiing. You may need to remove a layer, so plan ahead.
Notice
If you are under 18 years of age you must have a parent or guardian sign a release waiver prior to taking lessons.
Lessons are weather dependant, and take place whenever we have safe and reliable ice and snow conditions.
